Nicola Balzan started her singing career in the Kent Youth Choir, then was invited to join the acclaimed Kent Youth Chamber Choir where she performed solo roles in Canterbury and Liverpool Cathedrals.
Nicola joined the award-winning chamber choir, Vasari Singers, in 1995. A lead soprano, she has sung solo roles on BBC One's Songs of Praise and in many concerts and recordings in repertoire ranging from Scarlatti to contemporary commissions. On CD, Nicola's most recent solos include Gabriel Jackson's, "Now I have Known, O Lord" for Vasari's 21st Century Anthems for Signum Records and in Stephen Jackson's "Noel Nouvelet" for Vasari's new Christmas CD of the same name for Guild Records.
Jon Weller is currently Director of Music at S.Anselm's Preparatory School in Bakewell, Derbyshire and formerly held the same post at Hereford Cathedral Junior School. He is a member of the Armonico Consort and has also sung with Hereford and Edinburgh Cathedral Choirs and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain. His solo repertoire includes the Requiem Masses of Dvorak, Faure and Mozart, Britten's 'Noyes Fludde' and Schumann's song-cycle, 'Winterreise'. Last Summer, at the Three Choirs Festival in Hereford, Jon was one of the soloists in the World premiere of James MacMillan's 'Sun-Dogs', which was later broadcast on Radio 3.
